Shannen Doherty

Shannen posed for a nine page pictorial in the December 2003 issue of Playboy magazine. At the British Comedy Awards 2004, Caroline Quentin won the "Best Comedy Actress" award for her performance in Von Trapped. Her private life has also been turbulent, with a six month marriage to Ashley Hamilton, son of George Hamilton. With her new partner, Caroline had a daughter, Emily, in 1999, and a son, William, in 2003. She is now a regular on the series North Shore, a return to her prime-time soap roots. She married fellow BBC comedian Paul Merton in 1990, but they separated in 1997 and were subsequently divorced. She hosted Scare Tactics on the Sci Fi channel until the 2004 season. She went on to show her talent for straight acting in Life Begins.

She left that series in 2001, after three years, claiming that her best work was being wasted on a show "for 12-year olds" (though rumors persist that her departure was against her will, due to a feud with costar Alyssa Milano). In 1998 came the first sitcom to be built around Quentin herself, Kiss Me Kate. Although her departure from the series was reportedly acrimonious, it didn't stop Spelling from casting her in another series, Charmed. She also appeared in the telemovie Hot Money, based on the true story of the theft of hundreds of thousands of pounds from the Bank of England. She starred on the Aaron Spelling-produced Beverly Hills 90210 for four years, from 1990 to 1994. She has appeared in such series as Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Room 101, and Have I Got News For You. She was then cast as the oldest Witherspoon sibling, Kris, on the family drama Our House, which ran from 1986 to 1988. She was in the chorus of the original cast of Les Misérables.

She first came to notice when she was cast as Jenny Wilder in Little House on the Prairie, which she followed up with roles in films such as Heathers. Her early work included appearing on the stage.
