Sasha Alexander

Sasha Alexander (born May 17, 1975) is an American actress best known as Caitlin Todd on the CBS television drama Navy NCIS.

Born Suzana Alexander in Los Angeles, California, she was acting in school productions from the seventh grade. She graduated from the University of Southern California's film school.

She was also a regular on two short-lived series, the medical drama Presidio Med and ABC's twenty-something drama Wasteland. She appeared on the fourth season of Dawson's Creek as Gretchen Witter, dating the title character. Alexander played in the films Lucky 13, All Over the Guy, and Twin Falls, Idaho.

Soon, however, she decided to take correspondence courses instead.

At that age also, she was picked by the Walt Disney Company to star in the movie Return to Oz. At the age of 11 she moved to London, where she attented various prestigious ballet and acting schools. Raised for the first part of her life in San Francisco, she and her mother moved to Vancouver when Fairuza counted nine years of age. Soon after her parents split, Fairuza became a world traveller.

Legend has it that she was named Fairuza because her father, an expert in Persian culture, exclaimed that word the moment she was born, Fairuza meaning Turquoise in Persian, and Balk's eyes being of that color.
