Michael Keaton

Keaton is known for his work in films such as Batman, Beetlejuice, and Multiplicity. Mahoney also appeareed in an episode of Cheers as an inept jingle writer, including a brief conversation with Frasier, whos father he would later play. He picked "Keaton" after Buster Keaton, the silent-film star. He appeared in Frasier from its inception in 1993, until the final episode in 2004, and received Emmy and Golden Globe award nominations for this role. So he couldn't use Mike Douglas or Michael Douglas (the son of Kirk Douglas). He also provided the voices for several characters in the animated film Antz (1998). Keaton's real name is Michael John Douglas, but he could not use his real last name professionally because the actors' union doesn't allow two people to use the same name. He made his film debut in 1960, and has played supporting roles in such films as Suspect and Moonstruck (both 1987), Frantic (1988), Barton Fink (1991), In the Line of Fire (1993), The Hudsucker Proxy (1994), and Primal Fear (1996).

Keaton was born in an Irish Catholic family of 7 kids. He studied at Quincy University, Illinois before joining the United States Army.
