Lucia Mendez

On April of 2004, Mendez relocated for six months to Puerto Rico, for filming of a Hollywood movie. She made her off-Broadway debut in Noel Coward's Suite in Two Keys in 2000. On Saturday, February 29 of 2004, she married for the second time, this time to a person unknown to the public. Mills has starred in many shows and plays since, more notably as a teacher in Saved By The Bell, and as Miss Anna Leonowens in the British production of The King and I. Mendez is rumored to be planning a comeback into Latin American and Spanish United States television channels. Her second son, Jason Lawson, is the product of a 70's relationship with actor Leigh Lawson. Lucia debutted as a writer of a soap opera in Miami in 1998. Crispian later became a singer with the band Kula Shaker and is now front man for The Jeevas.

The public and gossip magazines have also speculated of a supposed rivalry between her and Veronica Castro. They had a child, named Crispian Mills, and divorced in 1977. But even as she did lead a more private life, she was still under the public's eye, and she has been associated romantically with Luis Miguel and Vicente Fox, among others. In 1971, she married Roy Boulting, who was many years older than her. After Amor de Nadie, Mendez semi-retired from acting, leading a more private life. She also acted in the film Kes, directed by Ken Loach (1969). The soap opera's title song also became a smash hit for Mendez. In Amor de Nadie, she played a rape victim who has five men fighting for her love. She played a pair of twins who reunite their parents after a long time, and her acting earned her a special Oscar. In 1990, Mendez came back with another super-hit soap opera, Amor de Nadie, alongside Saul Lisazo and Fernando Allende. Walt Disney's wife loved her acting, and so she was contacted to participate in the Disney film The Parent Trap. Later on, she and Pedro Torres divorced. Her Aunt and all the townspeople's lives were changed including the Pastor of the church played by Karl Malden. In 1988, she married producer Pedro Torres, and in 1989, she had her son Pedrito, who is her only child so far. In Tu o Nadie, her brother played a pshysically challenged person. She went on to take the lead in several other films, notably Whistle Down the Wind (1961). In 1986, she starred alongside Andres Garcia and Salvador Pineda in international super-hit Tu o Nadie, where she sang the Corazon de Piedra (Heart of Stone) song, which also became a smashing hit, on the Mexican and Latin American music charts. She has been the star of several Spanish soap operas.
