. Shortly after her passing, her distraught 34-year-old son died of a drug overdose and was interred near her. Doig, Shanks and Mia divide their time between Toronto and Vancouver, the centre of the Canadian film industry, with plans to move to Los Angeles in the near future. Lola Flores died of cancer in 1995 and was interred in the Cementerio de la Almudena in Madrid. On 2 August 2003 she married fellow actor Michael Shanks, and the two welcomed daughter Mia Tabitha on 13 September 2004. She had three children: Dolores (singer and actress Lolita Flores); rock musician, singer and actor Antonio Flores and singer and actress Rosario Flores. When not performing, Doig enjoys reading, rollerblading and playing RPG video games, "Dungeons and Dragons" being her favourite. In 1958, she married Antonio González el Pescaílla, a guitarist.

More recently, she has expanded into significant feature film roles, including the female lead in Jason X (2001). She received her the most success appearing in folklore shows with Manolo Caracol, who was her artistic partner until 1951. Doig landed the role of Tina Backus on the short-lived series CI5: The New Professionals in 1998, and finally burst into the spotlight with her role as the title character on the sci-fi series Andromeda. Born María de los Dolores Flores Ruiz', at a very young age, Lola Flores becomes a famous dancer and singer of Andalusian folklore, enjoying a long history of filmography beginning in 1939 and ending in 1987. Lola Flores, born February 21, 1923 in Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, Spain - died May 16, 1995, was a singer, dancer, and actress. I was leaping around my parents' house and screaming at the top of my lungs.

Doig recalls the time she heard the news of this role: "I walked out of the audition absolutely convinced I had blown it, and then my agent called to tell me I got the part. Her first significant role was on William Shatner's series TekWar. She worked on stage productions of Romeo and Juliet and Arsenic and Old Lace while auditioning for film and television roles. She did commercials and modelling work, before dropping out of high school during her final year to pursue an acting career.

At the age of sixteen, she enrolled in a modelling course and was immediately picked up by an agent. She was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, where her family held season tickets to their local theatre, and caught the acting bug at the age of nine, after seeing a production of Porgy and Bess. Doig's "exotic" appearance stems from her mixed heritage - Scottish on her father's side, Filipina on her mother's. Doig (born 8 June 1973) is a Canadian actress best known for her role on the science-fiction television series Andromeda.
