Kim Cattrall

In addition to her career as an actress she is also a writer, having co-written with her third husband Mark Levinson the book Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm. Cattrall was previously wed to Larry Davis and Andre Lusonin. Donna Douglas lives in Huntington Beach, California, but still considers Baton Rouge, Louisiana, her home. This character and several others she has portrayed are known for being sexually-open women. She has also appeared at conventions and trade shows. Cattrall is better known for her work as "Samantha Jones" in Sex and the City. She has remained busy making appearances, speaking for church groups, youth groups, schools and colleges. Subsequently she starred in the first Police Academy film in 1984, and in the first Mannequin in 1987. She has also written a children's book titled Donna's Critters & Kids: Children's Stories with a Bible Touch, which has Bible stories featuring animals and is combined with a coloring book for ages two to seven.

Cattrall starred in a handful of films during the 1970s, but her first taste of international fame came in 1981 when she participated in the first Porky's film. She has a gospel album and a country album. In 1981, at age 25, she briefly dated the recently-divorced Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. A devoted Christian, Douglas is also a noted gospel singer. When she was 16, she moved to New York where she studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Art. She was offered a role on a prime-time soap opera, but felt there were too many bad things in it, with not enough family values, and turned it down. At the age of 3 months, Cattrall and her family moved across the Atlantic Ocean to Canada, eventually settling for a time in Nanaimo, BC. She did not work in that field long, however, as she remained in show business and found other projects.

Producer Hal Wallis saw the Sullivan episode and cast her in the role of Marjorie Burke in the movie drama Career (1959) starring Anthony Franciosa, Dean Martin and Shirley MacLaine. Police Academy (1984). These and other TV appearances led New York photographers and newspaper reporters to award her the "Miss By-line" crown, which she wore on The Ed Sullivan Show. Turk 182 (1985). She was featured as the "Letters Girl" on The Perry Como Show in 1957, and as the "Billboard Girl" on The Steve Allen Show in 1959. City Limits (1985). She went to New York to pursue a career in entertainment and started out as a model for toothpaste adds.
