Belushi claims that Newmar has been harassing him and actively trying to force him to move through such acts as destroying his property, blaring loud music directed at his home and bad-mouthing him to neighbours. She married twice, with her second marriage lasting until her death in Honolulu, Hawaii from lung cancer. On November 2, 2004 Newmar was sued by actor James Belushi for the sum of $4 million. During the 1940s the quality of her roles steadily decreased and in 1947 she retired. Newmar's beauty was so legendary that it was even paid tribute in the title of a film, "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar". Her most widely seen performances were in Double Wedding (1937), in which she was billed third in the cast credits behind William Powell and Myrna Loy, and The Marx Brothers film At The Circus (1939). She appeared on stage with Anthony Newley in a national tour of "Stop the World I Want to Get Off" and as Lola in Damn Yankees!. Rice never became a major figure in films, but achieved popularity in a number of screen pairings with Robert Young.

She is best known for her recurring role on Batman as the villainous "Catwoman" (portrayed in the final season by Eartha Kitt). Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Rice became an actress during the early 1930s and after several Broadway roles, eventually made her way to Hollywood. Blonde, pretty and wholesome, Rice was cast as the reliable girlfriend in several MGM films, and during the 1930s, MGM gradually provided her with more substantial roles, occasionally in prestige productions. Newmar starred as the sexy Rhoda the Robot in the short-lived cult TV series My Living Doll (1964). Florence Rice (February 14, 1911 - February 23, 1974) was a American film actress. In The Marriage-Go-Round (1961) she developed the stock character role of the sexy Swede. Her show-stopping 90-second Broadway appearance as "Stupefyin' Jones" in Li'l Abner in 1956 led to a reprise in the 1959 film version.

Her first major role was as one of the brides in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954). She also danced in Demtrius and the Gladiators (1954). Her first appearances, before she changed her name, were as the "dancer-assassin" in Slaves of Babylon (1953) and as "the gilded girl" in Serpent of the Nile (1953) in which she was clad only in gold paint. She is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 145 pounds, measures 38-23-38, and has an IQ of 135.
