The following year Seth Justman joined as an organist and the group signed to Atlantic Records in 1970. Founded in Seattle in 1974 by sisters, Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson, the band had a sound heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin with elements of folk-rock and power ballads. In 1967 the band switched focus, starting to play electric guitar and bass and recruiting drummer Stephen Jo Bladd and singer Peter Wolf, both from Boston.
