Earl Hindman

Earl Hindman (October 20, 1942 - December 29, 2003) played the character Wilson on the hit television show Home Improvement. It was never really known what Wilson looked like, because there always was some clever way of hiding part of his face from view but sometimes one could almost see his whole face. As the beloved grandfather-like neighbor he always seemed to solve the Taylor family's problems. Hindman also played detective Bob Reid for many years on the daytime drama Ryan's Hope.

On 29 December 2003, Hindman died of lung cancer.

On 29 December 2003, Hindman died of lung cancer. This is the second child for Shanks, his first, Tatiana, with model Vaitiare Bandera, was born in 1998. Hindman also played detective Bob Reid for many years on the daytime drama Ryan's Hope. On 2 August 2003, Shanks married fellow actor Lexa Doig, and on 13 September 2004, they welcomed a daughter, Mia Tabitha. As the beloved grandfather-like neighbor he always seemed to solve the Taylor family's problems. He recently starred in the German Science Fiction Movie Sumuru as the astronaut Adam Wade. It was never really known what Wilson looked like, because there always was some clever way of hiding part of his face from view but sometimes one could almost see his whole face. He made several guest appearances throughout the sixth season and returned for the seventh and eight seasons.

He also played in the tv movie A Family Divided and Call of the Wild before accepting his role in Stargate SG-1. He made guest appearances on tv series like The Highlander, University Hospital, and The Outer Limits. in Fine Arts in 1994 Shanks played in several stage productions.

After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a B.A. Daniel Jackson on the television series Stargate SG-1.
