Donna Douglas

Donna Douglas lives in Huntington Beach, California, but still considers Baton Rouge, Louisiana, her home. She has dated John Cusack. She has also appeared at conventions and trade shows. Forlani is currently single. She has remained busy making appearances, speaking for church groups, youth groups, schools and colleges. With the picture Meet Joe Black, co-starring Brad Pitt, she became in 1998 widely known to the American and the international public. She has also written a children's book titled Donna's Critters & Kids: Children's Stories with a Bible Touch, which has Bible stories featuring animals and is combined with a coloring book for ages two to seven. One year later her performance in The Last Time I Committed Suicide was finally acclaimed by the critic, and was for her the recognition of her work in previous, disappointing films.

She has a gospel album and a country album. Some movies followed, and in 1996 Forlani played a part in the hit The Rock, starring Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage. A devoted Christian, Douglas is also a noted gospel singer. She was cast the same year for the TV mini-series J.F.K.: Reckless Youth, and thereafter for the cinema picture Police Academy: Mission to Moscow. She was offered a role on a prime-time soap opera, but felt there were too many bad things in it, with not enough family values, and turned it down. Soon came the first offer of the American film market. She did not work in that field long, however, as she remained in show business and found other projects. Forlani's parents wanted to help her daughter to have offers for movie roles, and in 1993 decided to move to San Francisco.

She received her real estate license after The Beverly Hillbillies went off the air in order to have something to fall back on. Having performed on stage, she was cast by the British Television for a TV series and a TV film. Having no resentment about being so closely identified with one character, she still makes occasional public appearances in her hillbilly costume of blue jeans with trademark rope belt and a ruffled, pink blouse. During the six years she attended this school, she also studied dance besides acting, which opened her the doors for performances like The Nutcracker Ballet and Orpheus in the Underworld. In 1981, she returned for a made-for-TV reunion movie. At the age of 11, Forlani entered the "Arts Educational School" in London, where she began preparing for her acting career. Douglas remained with the The Beverly Hillbillies for the entire run of the series. She was born in Twickenham, Middlesex, England, as the daughter of an Italian father and a British mother.
